IRS Issues Inflation Adjustment Factors for Renewable Energy Tax Credits

The IRS periodically issues notices to modify the amount per kWh used to calculate certain renewable energy tax credits.  On May 28, 2013, it issued Notice 2013-22 to provide the latest inflation adjustment factors.  

This notice publishes the inflation adjustment factors and reference prices forcalendar year 2013 for the renewable electricity production credit, the refinedcoal production credit, and the Indian coal production credit under section 45of the Internal Revenue Code. The 2013 inflation adjustment factors andreference prices are used in determining the availability of the credits. The2013 inflation adjustment factors and reference prices apply to calendar year2013 sales of kilowatt hours of electricity produced in the United States or apossession thereof from qualified energy resources and to calendar year 2013sales of refined coal and Indian coal produced in the United States or apossession thereof.
